The Los Angeles Clippers: Team Fire

Warriors @ Clippers, 31 October 2013

During the third quarter of last night's game at Staples, the Clippers connected on three consecutive alley-oops. The Warriors were held scoreless during this period.

Despite the raucous cheering, frantic Tweeting and Kevin Harlan anvil referencing, the historical significance of this stretch was not lost.

In executing three straight oops, the Clippers became the first NBA team to unlock Team Fire*.

Baseline Leaner enlisted the assistance of former Lob City legend Loy Vaught to re-create this devastating offensive sequence, as shown below.

If you believe another team achieved this feat prior to yesterday, please let us know. We've reached out to Grateful Dead groupie Bill Walton to discuss his famous attempt at Team Fire and the pain associated with falling just short.

* The Team Fire concept was invented in 1996 by the good programmers at Midway for NBA Hangtime, the greatest sporting game known to man.
